Scotland Yard in experimenting with a two-valvo receiving set, carried in the pockets of all policemen on beats, and connected to another piece of mechanism in the policeman’s helmet, which serves ais an earphone, though the message iis sent through the skull instead of directly into the ear.

The mechanism will only add one and a-half ounces to the weight of the helmet, and has a minimum range of oue hundred miles.

'The set will elnable police' headquarters, or a police radio van, to keep up communication with any constable on duty, and notify him of “grab” raids and other emergencies. Present tests follow extensive trials of miniature wireless receivers by the Brighton policemen while on duty.
