Preaching front the text, “In Him was life ; and the life was the light of men.’’ his Grace paid tribute to the life and work of Mr Fendall, with whom he first came in contact fortythree- years ago, when the latter was vicar of Westland, and whom he characterised as a faithful priest and a sincere friend. The tablet, which is fixed on the chancel wall adjoining one m memory ot Mr Fendall':, -son, who was killed m the Great War, bears the inscription: To the Glory of God. In Memory of Frederick Philip Feudal I, Vicar of this Parish, 1892-1921.
