The comments of the Itev. Ruth has aroused indignation among Union Secretaries at the Trades 'Hall. The Secretary to the Labour Council, Mr J. S. Garden, who was formerly a BaptiJ; Minister, has replied to Rev. 'Ruth’s statements, by challenging him to allow him to take the pulpit next 'Sunday, to speak on the text: “Blessed are Ye wheu men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you, falsely, for My sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for greak is your reward in heaven.”
