ATTACK EROAI THE PULPIT
APPEAL TO THE NEW GUARD

SYDNEY, April 18.
At the Pitt Street- Congregational Church, the Rev. T. E. Ruth gave an address oil the “Police and the New Guard.”
He asked: “Is it the duty of the police to obey the orders ol a corrupt Government If so, what then? The police are all right, hut their masters, with their warped idea of justice, and their apparent protection of Communists, and animosity to loyalists, their Soviet legislation, their tin ban- scandals, ami their policy of default, and repudiation—these political ma.sterg of police, I suy, are all wrong. The right of criticism is necessary to public morality, and it is a common right, and if the jio I ice are employed by their niiislcrs to destroy it. it must he guarded by others. I’or months I have been amazed at the supine .surrender by citizens of this State to u series of immoral political actions.”
Mr Ruth concluded; “There is pulficimit, man-power in the New Guard, if consecrated |<> the cause ol Christ, ;iinl the cause <d' Slate, to save New Sun I Ii Wales.”
