Dealing with the European outlook in a speech in North Wales last night. .Mr Stanley Baldwin (Conservative Leader) said that nothing had done more harm economically than the splitting of Europe into many would he selisuffering States, and also the postwar mentality that made all ol these small units believe tha( they could he seU’-suHieient. This had created in Europe a vast network ol | imbibitions, and tariffs, which wuv inter ering more than anything else with that freer trade which was essential I'm- the world.
