This statement caused Airs Morris, who was ill the court, to weep bitterly, moaning “It’s dreadful.” Friends tried to sooth Airs Morris, and finally led her from the Court, still protesting. -Steele, once Cowell’s secretary, said 'xiiat Cowen Used to .take Mrs Morris to his office and the theatre, tor half an hour, a power's voice would be heard delivering a -sermon.

-Cowen, who is a dramatist, and Ire•queii'tly mentioned in -the case, has been manager of seances at the Fortune Theatre.
