ROSS STOCK SALE. On Monday la-t a sale of stock was umductcd in the above yards. W. defines and Co. report as follows: -Our entry for this fixture comprising 218 sheep and 87 of head cattle the composition of the latter being largely made up of old cows and light: steer.-; for which there was poor demand and though we made a good clearance competition was dull and prices low. An excellent entry of Hit sheep for Walter Scott made up to ruling rates. I*our and six tooth wethers made to Its 9d and s milar aged eves to Ids. The. following prici'S were recorded. Empty store cows l"s, -.'lts, i>L's. 29s (id and Ills. llminers dlls and dos 2 year steens mixed colours Cd, L'd os, and C'A IDs. Ditto heifers t'2 It's and L’2 His. IS months .steers and heilers dtis (is, Ids and mis. Eight tat steel's L‘-f and Cl Ids. Eat heifers C 7 and bullocks (j j‘ 12s (id. d pens of f ami f wet tiers •>t M,-: dd and Ms 9d. 2 pens fat ewes at Ik’s. 2 pens of breeding ewes at 13s.
