LAUNCH MISSING

STRANGE NOTE LEFT. SUGGESTION OF SUICIDE. AUCKLAND, April 9. Inquiries are being made by the Auckland police for a large fishing launch, which is believed to have a young man and a girl, under twent.v years of age, on board. A note suggesting suicide was le.'t by the gin i<>. her parents, but this is not regarded seriously by the police. The launch, of which the young man is a part-owner, was anchored oil the North Wall. It is known that she was at her anchorage on Wednesday hut yesterday morning she was missing. The other part-owner of the boat noticed that the launch had gone, arid a report was made to 11 10 police. Ovo, 30it long, the launch is well found, and for some time past has been used for fishing. It is understood that the young man and young woman have been friendly for some months. “To the finder of my de.ad body.” was the address on a note left by the girl at her home. In this she indicated suicide. It is known, however, that the girl took her bank-book with her when she le t home. Inquiries have been made by the police hut up till midday no report ns to the whereabouts of the launch had been received. In a statement to the police, the principal partner in the launch said he last saw the other partner on Wednesday afternoon, when he said he was going to meet the girl who is now missing.
