PHAR LAP

KILLED BY KINDNESS.

AN EXPERT’S OPINION. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 12. it is the opinion of Air Andrew Robertson, of Melbourne, why arrived by the Zealandia- to-day, that Pliar Lap’s death was indirectly caused.by kindness. Air Robertson is a brother of the well-known Alelbourne trainer; Lou Robertson, and is an expert judge ot thoroughbreds. He has made many trips abroad buying horses. He says that it is now springtime in California, and the alfalfa and grass there would be - luscious, fresh and green. They were, possibly, a little- too kind, and gave him too much. Air Robertson still thinks that it was just plain colic that .Pliar Lap died from. He said that,, with many years’ experience to hack him up. He deplores the loss of the horse. He would hare liked him to meet some of the Eastern horses, sucli as Mate and Twenty Grand.
