WEST COAST EXECUTIVE. ! SENIOR NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. I A meeting of the Executive of the West Coast Rugby Union was held lastevening. A letter was . received from North Otago Rugby Union to consider the following proposal: “That an endeavour be made to arrange for a match between teams from the Ashburton-South Canterbury-North Otago Unions, and the Seddon Shield Unions, such match to take place prior to the North v South Island match next year”; the reason for the proposal being to give selectors an opportunity of seeing rep players of minor unions prior to picking New Zealand teams. A telegram was received from the North Otago union stating that owing to the South Canterbury Union rejecting the proposal, the proposed match would not he practicable. A letter was received from the Westland Sub-Union stating that in all probability a senior competition would be conducted in Hokitika during the coming season. The following nominations were received for the competitions to lie run by the Union:— Senior: B(akctown, Cobdcn, Stars, U nited. l(, was decided that flu? names of W. Vaughan and H. J. Ware lie recommended to the X.Z.P.U, for approval for readmission to the code, j Messrs Kyle, Kggolton and Ryan j were elected a Postponement Committee, The following were elected to draw up senior and junior/ fixtures: Messrs Mclntosh, Potliwell. and Cornish, and the Secretary.
