Miss Katherine Stammers, who is only eighteen years of age, won the Surrey hardcourt tennis championship, defeating Dorothy Round 6—4, 6—4, in the final, after beating Mrs Mitchell, and Misses Ridley and Heeley, who, with Miss Round have been selected for the Wightman Cup trials, in which Miss Stammers is not included. papers are acclaiming Miss Stamr.icias an English hope, with possibilities rivalling Mrs Wills-Moody.
