WELLINGTON, April 6

Reports in circulation that Cabinet has decided not to deal kindly with the question of the interest rate and rent reductions appear to have no foundation.

Questioned on the subject to-day, the Prime 'Minister (the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes) confined his comment to a repetition of the statement previously made by him.

"1 stated recently,” said the Prime Minister, “'that no class in the community would escape the sacrifices that are necessary. That statement holds good.”
