Notwithstanding the fact,that there is at present an enormous over-supply of whale oil in the world, it is understood that the Norwegian Fleet, which for several seasons has been operating in Ross Sea, will resume activites towards the end of this year. At the Base in Prices Bay, Paterson’s Inlet, alone thirty men, all Norwegians, are busily engaged repairing, the larger Hoot of chasers. It is interesting to not that a one-time well-known trader to Bluff, tho barque Othello—one of a nuniberows fleet of vessels owned bv the late Mr \V. S. Wntorston, of ln vorcargill—is now utilised ns a wharf. Sunk on a concrete base, she provides deep water berthage for the fleet when taking in supplies.
