LATE LOCALS

The annual meeting of the Excelsior football Club will be held in Keller's Sample Rooms on Thursday evening at 7 o'clock sharp. Krom the King Memorial Hut an ascent of Mount Cook was made on piaster Tuesday by Mr Jack Clnirinau (Christchurch) * and Guide Suter. The hut was left at 2.30 a.m. and the suminit was reached at 10.55 The weathei was perfect, but the absence of snowbridges across the great crevasses on the Linda Glacier gave the climbers some trouble. The summit rocks were entirely free from snow, and thc dreaded ice-cap was found to be in good condition. The return to the hut was made in (>l hours, the total time being 1411 hours.
