It is notified that Blue Spur road near Greenlees’ will he interrupted for vehicle traffic on Monday and Tuesday while a pipe crossing is being put in.

The R.S.A. Euchre will be continued in the Soldiers’ Hall next Tuesday when the usual good prizes are offered for competition.
It is notified that the annual meeting of the Westland Acclimatisation Society will be held on April 14th. Nominations for a Council of Twelve and for the Officers of the Society must be lodged with the Secretary not later than Thursday next.

In approximately a fortnight’s time, the ’Westland Aero Club will undertake its practical side, in commencing its classes instruction for pupil members. It is only a matter of weeks since the Club was formed, and it is a matter for congratulation that the Club is in the position to commence the training of its pupil members so soon. Prior to the holding of the first class, there will be a meeting cl all members in Mclntosh’s Club rooms next Wednesday evening.
Matron Drummond who has severed her connection with the Mental Hospital after an association of 14 years with the institution, was the guest of honour last evening, when mi enjoyable time was spent ut the Villa. A pleasant evening passed in dancing to luusic by the Black Hand orchestra. Miss Drummond was the recipient of u valuable gift from the nurses and staff, to whom she expressed her thanks and also regret at her departure. At the conclusion, Mr G. Davidson, on behalf of Miss. Drummond, thanked the nurses and staff for arranging the evening in honour of the Matron.
At the. Aragistcate’s Court Reefton, an Friday, Frank Lawry and Robert Park were jointly charged with throwing stones and wilfully damaging a plate glass window, to the value of £2O, and al s o with wilfully throwing stones to damage the property of William Ellis. Mr I. Pattenson appeared for the defendants and fcergt. •Smyth conducted the case for the police. The charge against Park was dismissed. The charge of throwing stones on the hut was dismissed. On the other charges Lawry was ordered to come up if called upon, for sentence within six months, and ordered to pay costs of the case.
