MOTOR CAR STOLEN
ARRESTS AT HOKITIKA

GREYMOUTH, March 29,
Clement Stanley Maurice Magon, 23 years of age, and* William Allen, aged 30, miners, were convicted on charges of breaking into a garage, and the conversion of a car, the property of Phillip Courtenay Heaphy, o! Greymouth. Early on 'Sunday morning, they broke into a garage at Paroa, and stole two cases of benzine. They were arrested in Hokitika where the car had become stuck in some loose ground after leaving the road. Accused pleaded guilty, and said that they were under the influence of liquor. On the conversion charge each was fined £lO, in default one month, while on the theft charge each was lined £5, in default fourteen days’, and ordered to refund the value ol a damaged o\eicoat and rug, valued at £6. Magon was ordered to pay costs on a charge of driving without a license.
