ON THE SIERRA
CHIEF JUSTICE ON HOLIDAY
U.S. PROFESSOR OF ZOOLOGY AUCKLAND; March 21. , Among the passengers by the steamSierra, which arrived at Auckland from Los Angles this morning, was Mr Harry Parker Wood, Chief Justice of American Samoa. He intends to spend some time in the Dominion pottering about. He will fish at Taupo and go where his fancy leads him.
Mr T. Henkel well known in Auckland as an orchestra leader, is on a short visit to Sydney. He is accompanied by Mrs Hekel. Messrs H. F. L., and H. L. Phillips, representing the Phillips’ Amusement Co., of Melbourne, are returning to Australia after a short visit to America. Mr H. L. Clark, Professor of Zoology at the Harvard University, with his wife is on his way to join the Harvard University Zoological party at present collecting in Australia. Professor Clarlc is particularly interested in marine zoology, and lie intends to do work on the west coast of Australia, on the reefs. He will be away until next October, when the university term begins. Mr Clark is also one of the curators of the museum of comparative zoology at Harvard.
