OTTAWA CONFERENCE
THREE IMPORTANT EVENTS
MB BALDWIN TO ATTEND

■RUGBY, March 17.
The Prime Minister announced in the House of .Commons to-day a provisional list of delegates to the Ottawa Conference and the Lausanne Conference. He said that the Government had to be represented practically simultaneously at three most important conferences this summer—the Disarmament Conference at Geneva, the Conference at Lausanne, opening in June, and' the Imperial Conference at Ottawa in July, Any announcement must depend on the claims made upon the services pf Ministers during the summer. The delegation for Geneva was known. The representatives of the Government at Ottawa would be as follows: Mir J. H. Thomas.
The Secretary for the Colonies, Sir Philip Cunlitfe-iLister. The President of the Board of Trade, the Hon. Walter Runciman.
A representative of the Ministry of Agricuture.
Subject to Government business considerations, the Lord President of the Council, Mr Stanley Baldwin, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Neville Chamberlain, and the Secretary for War, Lord Hailshani, would also 'attend . At the Lausanne Conference the Government would be represented by the Prime Minister, Sir Austen Chamberlain, iSir John Simon and Mr Walter ■Runcirnan, if advisable, and possibly the services might 'be utilised of Sir Herbert Samuel aud Sir Samuel Hoare, or a representative of the Dominions Office

The “Daily Telegraph” says: “The announcement of the Ottawa Delegation will give great satisfaction. There has been real anxiety that the best and strongest British team should be selected. Mr Baldwin will be the virtual leader of the delegation and there is every reason to believe that this will be acceptable both to the Dominions and the Home country.” Other newspaper comment Is on similar lines. fi The Times” welcomes the .selection and pays that compliment has been paid to the importance of the conference hv the nomination of outstanding members of the Gnvcrnmoipt.
