At a meeting of the Canterbury District of the Central Transport Licencing Authority, the first application to be dealt with was that" of G. M. Harcourt f°r a motor service between Hokitika and Arthur’s Pass. The application was for from December 1 till April 30, with a charge of 30/- each way. Harcourt’s application was refused. Newman’s Motors Ltd., application for a iri-weekly service with deviation to Kumara on race days was granted.
