BIG FIRE AT PAHIATUA. By Telegraph—Per Press Association) l PAHIATUA, March 16. Air J. B. Tnllock’s drapery premises and stock were destroyed by fire last night. The stock was insured for £2BOO in the Alliance and Phoenix Offices. The building, which was owned by L. Hartley, was insured for £I7OO in .the Alliance office. THEFT FROM RESIDENCE. WELLINGTON, March 16. On February 6th, the residence of Dr 1 (Herbert, The Terrace, was broken into white Herbert was awa.v. and clothing, jewellery, camera and a gt'amaphone, to I a total value of £’432, was stolen. I 'Frederick Fisher, 26, and Aden Ed- ; ward T'avlor, 17, described as labourers, i wore to-day charged with the. crime. They pleaded guilty and were committed for sentence. In hi-s evidence Dr Herbert said all the property .had now been recovered.
