ANOTHER SUICIDE
MULTI-MILLIONAIRE’S DEATH. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, March 14. A message from ' Rochester states that Mr' George Eastman, aged seventy seven, the multi-millionaire industrialist inventor, and philanthropKist, died at his home to-day. A later message says that Eastman shot himself. He was known all over the world as a genius of photographic industry, an art collector, and big game hunter. At the time of his death, he possessed seventy-five million dollars. STATEMENT BY PHYSICIAN. NEW YORK, March 14. A Rochester message states that Hr. Andleys Stewart, in announcing that Eastman had shot himself after ■putting all the attendants away from his bedside, said that Eastman left this note: “To mv friensd. My work
is done, why wait.” Dr. Stewart, who was Eastman’s personal physician for many years, said that while Eastman was in ill health for many, years, he apparently , had recovered to a degree encouraging \to his friends. He was apparently in / such a mental state that he shot himself after sending his friends from the room. A moment after they departed they heard a shot and returned to find him dead.
