VERDICT IN SWIMMING EATALII Y. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 10. At the inquest on George Robert Robertson, aged 25, evidence showed that deceased must have struck his head on the bottom when he dived into the shallow end of the Te Aro swimming baths, breaking his neck. A verdict according to medical evidence was returned.
RAILWAY FATALITY INQUEST. CHRISTCHURCH, March 10. The verdict that Wm. Hobman Cook, a butcher, was accidently killed when tlio motor-truck he was driving collided with a railway engine at the Styx crossing, was returned by the Coroner at the inquest. “The crossing is adequately provided witli flashing signals to show the approach of trains, and these were in action at the time, ’ said the Coroner. A car salesman who was witli Cook in the truck said: “The last thing I remember was passing tlio Wainiakariri bridge. After that I can’t recollect a thing, and I do not remember seeing the crossing. The next I knew was when I woke up in the hospital several days afterwards.”
