The Nazi newspaper, “Attack,” pubI. is hod a "true story” of how Hitler captured 15 British soldiers, and won the Iron Cross. It 'Says that, while Hitler -was taking a message to battalion headquarters, he took" refuge in a shell-hole, where a British officer and 1-1 soldiers were sheltering. Hitler covered them with Ids revolver, and made them prisoners. The British ai’egedlv excused themselves by saying that he “surrounded us.’\ German regimental history does not mention the ailegecl exploit, but a brigade adjutant, on July 17th, 1918, acknowledged that Hitler delivered two Americans, who were .'taken prisoners by the Sixteenth Regiment. A war-time comrade declares that Hiller was only ten days in the front line. He served throughout the war ii, ;i comfortable, post at battalion headquarters. Hitler denies lids without elucidating the mystery of his war-time achievements.
