DECLARED INSANE
ENGLISH MURDERER “WIFE MADE LIFE A HELL.” (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—-Copyright.) LONDON, March 8. George Tandy, the wife murderer, was found guilty and insane. He was sentenced to be detained at His Majesty’s pleasure. 'J he daughter gave evidence that she and her brother protected the father at times from the mother’s drunken fury. '1 he Judge said the prisoner was entitled to sympathy. He had been both mother and father to the children. The incident was cabled on' December 9 and stated that George Tandy, an unemployed asp halier, was remanded on the charge of murdering his wife in Sheffield.
In consequence of Airs Tandy having been missing from her home for eight days the police dug up tho greenhouse floor and unearthed her body, fully clothed, and showing severe head injuries.
The police gave evidence that accused, in a statement! said his .wife had made hie life a hell, She was always drinking, and told hint that she would do Something to their little lud, so lie thought it host that sho wontfirst aod ho killed her,
