UNEMPLOYED INSURANCE. DELEGATIONS DEMAND. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) OTTAWA, March 3. An emphatic and unqualified refusal to the d'lnauds for a lion-contributory Unemployment Insurance of the widest range, and a flat declaration that neither the (GovernmentVnor Parliament will be deferred by threats was given by the Premier, Mr Bennett, to day, to a delegation of unemployed of various nationalities, from various cities, heard in the Railway Committee Room in the House of Commons.

Through 'its spokesman, Mr James Litterieh, the 'Toronto delegation demanded a noil-contributory employment insurance fund to he obtained from taxation of tbo-:e receiving incomes , above £SOOO yearly, the fund to be administered by the workers. .Mr Litterieh termed his proposals as demands, closing with the threat that unless the demands were granted the delegation would be back to' Par lament. M” Bennett, replying, said that unfortunately spokesmen had on other occasions threatened to use force. He desired to say that the Government Was anxious to maintain the well being of citizens of ithe country, hilt .when >such a delegation cattle and hi side threats, and said it would defy the institutions find the constituted authority, a position was being taken which will not be allowed. % The Government a year ago had stated that it would not support the system of non-contributory unemployment insurance. That is the intention of the Government to-day. Earlier disorder was marked by a demonstration of several hundred unemployed marchers after they had been refused entrance to Parliament •Hill. Carrying firearms, the paraders attempted to hold -a meeting ill Connaught Square, near Parliament Buildings. When the police made a sudden descent, one of the officers was .attacked and slightly 'injured, when struck by a banner pole. Three men were taken into custody, but only one held.
