REDUCED INTEREST CHARGES. PALMERSTON N., Fob. 29. That the rate of exchange should not be fixed, and that there should he a 20 per cent reduction in fixed charges (including interest) are requests to be made to the Government as the outcome of a meeting held at Palmeiston North to-day, called to discuss matters affecting the welfare ol the country. About 400 were present, and the meeting was addressed by Mr W. J. Poison and local speakers.
