FOR UNEMPLOYED
A WORK PROPOSAL. WELLINGTON, Feb. 20 The Drainage Board, in conference with a representative of the Government, the Drainage Engineer, and Of-ficers-in-Chnrge of the Auckland Labour Bureau, discussed a scheme for putting 1000 men at work on Taupiri Swamp, and 200 men at Auckland. The scheme will probably be established in this connection shortly on full-time pay.
