The Council of the Irish Labour Party is awaiting '.Ur J)e Valera's programme before asserting their balance of power. (Mr Norton, their leader, says he intends to compel Mr Do Valera's Government first to concentrate on unemployment, housing, development of industries .and assistance to smnll farmers. The economic position is too serious to waste time bickering over political issues. Labour intended to serve a.s a barrier between tbe Reactionary National st policies.
