"STOCK SALE. THE. HARIHARI MARKET. On Saturday afternoon in the abovo yards W. Jeffries and Co. conducted their quarterly 1 stock sale when an entry of 30 fat- sheep, 8 rams' and 94 cattle were penned. The weather conditions were decidedly unfavourable which affected the attendance. Competition was slack only finished sorts being wanted. No big cattle were yarded though several lines of big empty cows were forward but not in demand. The following prices were recorded. Suffolk r a life to 2 guineas, Romney rams 1£ guineas. Fat wethers to 14s. Fat cows £5 10s to £6. Fat heifers £4 to £4 12s 6d. Runners £2 12 S 6d. Forward cows £2 17s 6d to £3 los. Forward 18mos. steers £2 to £2 10s Forward 18mos. steers £3 10s to £4 os, 2yr. steers £4 10s to £o. During the afternoon the freehold property of 138 acres with a frontage to Main South Road and adjoining the Harihai’i township ivas offered by auction on account of Atr A. C. Butler and purchased by Air Walter Ohisnall of that- town.
