NORTHERN FIRTH
HKLD FAST ON ROCKS. SALVAGING OF CARGO. (Received this day at 9.26 a.m) SYDNEY, February 27. A diver has examined the Northern Firth, and reports that she is stranded on two sharp rocks, and held finsC The hull is hadlv damaged, and the cargo submerged. It will he a difficult matter to salvage the vessel owing to the danger of had weather, and other rocks in the <11:11* vicinity, but i| should he possible, wi-ii a light diaugiil vessel, to salvage some case cargo which is not likely to be a fleeted by sail wnr.-r. \ small woodmi steamer with efficient, gear and a salvage crew, left Sydney for the scene in an attempt r<> recover some of the cargo, after which, an effort will he made to tow the Northern Firth oil the rocks. A calm sea prevails.
