EX-QUEEN’S JEWLES
GEMS WORTH**£SDO,OOO. LONDON. February 23. Former Queen Victoria of Spain has opened negotiations for thy sale in London of her famous collection of jeweihcy. The “Sunday Express” estimates the collection to be worth at least £500,000. It is said >Alfonso's wife smuggled the jewels out of Spain when the royal family lied in the revolution last April. The crown jewels, it i$ understood,.-are not to be included in the sale, wh ch will be confined to the Queen’s private property. ■'Her treasures include a magnificent crown set v. ith diamonds, which .die inherited from her godmother, the Empress Fugenie ; a mother-of-pearl and jet necklace, a diamond and aquamarine, necklace, one of diamonds and pearls, another of turquoise set with diamonds, and a number of diamond bracelets, rings and brooches.
