RAILWAY SERVICE

RESUMED ON EAST COAST. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) TIAMRU, Feb. 25. The railway service north and south of Timaru was re-established tins afternoon. Since Monday last, passengers, luggage and goods have laid to be transhipped at Pareora and Otaio and vice versa owing to damage to bridges at these two points. Gangs have been working twelve hour sliilts to effect temporary repairs. These have been finished and permitted the south express to cross over this afternoon. Tlie night goods service lias also been re-established to-night: Gangs will remain to effect permanent repairs which are expected to take two months to complete.
