THE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. WELLINGTON, Feh. 25. The Town Hall was packed to-night, It.ere being a scene ol remarkable enthusiasm, when the A Grade Hands played the second test selection in the Now Zelaand Champion Band Contests. The championship was awarded on the points gained in the first and second test pieces, and musical points in the Quickstep, and was won by the Port Nicholson Band, which was second in the first test, and first in musical points in the Quickstep. The AYcolston Hand, which won both the test selections, losL the championship by its poor showing in the Quick step. ‘‘The Bands in Ibis contest generally have been good,” said the judge, Air J. J. Kelly. “There is, however, u marked difference between the standards of the A and B Grade hands, hut if the B Grades follow in the track of tile A Grades, they wlil be all right.” The A Grade points are as follows: Port Nicholson: Quickstep 70, first test 138* second test 1*10; aggregate 354.
