CONFIDENT OF SUCCESS. (Australian Tress Association.) NINETY MILE REACH, Feb. 24. Thu Enterprise appeared lor the third time on Ninety .Mile Beach today, when Smith made a trial run of about four miles. The car attained auout 12. j miles an hour, according to Smith, who was pleased men u.e run. Road tyres used were not changed as Smith did not wish to risk, cutting his racing tyres with tohera shells which are still thick in places, .smith ran ill only one direction, and on his return was patiently pleased with the Enterprise’s performance, and said the five mile record was a certainty. He hazarded the opinion that on the five mile run he would probably attain a speed of over 245 miles per hour, and thus automatically break the land speed record as the beach was improving. He was looking forward to to-morrow when after the king tide, he has every hope of attacking the five mile record. The third track switch was fully tested to-day, and three wireless telephones which located the timing apparatus, and each dump proved in working order.
