TEAM AT AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 23. The South African cricketers arrived by the Maunganui this morning. The manager, J. H. Tandy, in referring to the team’s record in Australia and the influence of varred weather and wickets, mentioned that on occasions when the Australians wCre batting and the weather was bad, the, visitors went for a week or even "pn days without having a .bat in tb&ir bands, and consequently ■suffered .from a lack of match practice. The fielding' had been generally good and the bowling even exceeded exBectationb Feeble batting accounted for the disappointing showing in the tests.
Tandy, with Bell, A 7 incent and Curnow left this morning for Rotorua, and will rejoin the team at Frankton on Thursday., This leaves only a bare eleven for the match against Auckland, which starts this afternoon. The tearii is—Cameron (captain), Taylor, Mitchell, Balasakas, Christy, Dalton, Morkel, McMillan, Quinn, Aqlioen and Brown.
