DISARMAMENT
STATEMENT BY KING. MESSAGE TO ARCHBISHOPS. (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.; LONDON, February 20. Replying in the white and gold Throne Room at Buckingham Palace to addresses by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, whom other clergy accompanied, His Majesty addressing the Archbishop of Canterbury, said he fully shared their hopes and prayers ior the success of the Disarmament Conference.' The Governments would do their utmost to exert themselves to secure the largest possible measure disarmament.
Addressing the Archbishop of York, His Majesty emphasised the Church s opportunity to bring the- truths oi Christianity to bear upon current problems. The fortitude of Britons in the face of difficulties, had shown the world that the spirit of unity and mutual sacrifice still lived.
