Since the arrival of the m.v. Mini at Greymouth. on Wednesday afternoon, with a cargo of explosives, work has been proceeding in three shifts at the Cobdcn Quarry, workmen placing the explosives in the three tunnels already in preparation for the “big blast”. By yesterday morning, two chambers of the top tunnel had been filled, and it was hoped to complete the tunnel, and to make a start on the placing of the explosives in the remaining two. The big blast will take place as soon as-all the explosives have been placed jn the tunnels, probably on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
