The outstanding merit of New Zealand tobacco is largely owing to the. fact .that it i-s toasted just as coffee and cocoa beans are. Hence its unique flavour and fragrance. Yes: and toasting does more ; it absorbs the poisonous nicotine, thus rendering the tobacco absolutely harnn'ess. There is no other toasted “weed.” The four brands manufactured are ; River-head Gold, Navy Cut No. 3, Cavendish and Cut Plug. No. 10. Every tobacconist sells these goods, but buyers are cautioned that the popularity of N.Z. tobacco has caused imitations to get on the market. —Advt.
