ASHBURTON, February 19

Mr J. Connolly, M.P., has offered to launch a scheme, providing for the free: use of his' Cheviot Hills homestead with a suitable area, for a farm school for lads just left school or a little older.

The scheme has been taken up by a Committee of Christchurch residents, and: it is . intended to form a local committee at Ashburton and elsewhere t'o. ■ further the -project. The--house will accommodate quite fifty boys, and the scheme in the meantime is independent of Government support, or'control.
