MEN DISMISSED
ON PUBLIC WORKS

WELLINGTON, Feb. 19
It was ascertained from a”* authoritative source to-day that a number of men have been dismissed from the Tawa Flat deviation and others are •to be dismissed shortly from that work.
General dismissals from public works throughout the country are to take place and it is expected that steps will be taken to find employment for the men under different conditions.
The official statement on the subject is anticipated shortly.
