NEW YORK, Feb. 17
Mr Peter B. Kyne, the well-known American author, and iMr Douglas Fairbanks, film actor, may in the near future visit Australia. The Australia Travel Association representative, Mr O’Connor, of San Francisco, states that Mr Fairbanks, who sailed by th steamer “Makura”’ to-day for Tahiti, whence he will proceed on a yacht to make a travelogue of the South Seas, Fiji, New Guinea, etc., told him that if time permits he will include Australia in his itinerary. Fie must return to Los Angeles in time for the Olympic Games. Mr Peter B. Kyne, has been asked to join a so-called Young American Group, which is scheduled to leave San Francisco by the Matson liner Monterey on March 6th. Mr Kyne has also received a cablegram from the Australian Prime Minister, Mr Lyons urging him to come to Australia. The writer stated that he would go to Australia, if he possibly could, and that, upon bis return, lie would do his bit to give that interesting country the sort of forceful, kindly publicity which it so eminently merited. Mr Kyne expressed a doubt as to his ability to leave on March 6th, but lie added that he would move heaven and earth to get there in time for the Melbourne Cup.
