LONDON, February 17

As a result of Mr Collins’ protest, stockbrokers cabled on Bth February, have now issued a new circular to clients recanting the previous disparaging reference to Australian stocks. A covering letter says: Later figures published, and other information available, which modify materially the estimates given previously, showing Australia in a far more favourable position. We therefore now advise the retention of Australian Government stocks.
