WON BY WOMAN. ENRIGHT GETS FASTEST TIME. (By Telegraph—Ber Brest Association) TIMARU, February 16. The Annette Keilerman Uup, which is competed lor at- tlie' senior swimming enanipioiiships eucli year, was ' contested in Timaru Harbour tins afternoon. It resulted in an easy win lor Miss H. J. Ellis, of Christchurch Ladies’ Ciub. W. K. Girling (Wellington) was second, and J. Enright (Auckland) tliircl. A crowd of several thousand watched the race, which was swum over, a triangular course threequarters of a mile long, the swimmers having to make tour circuits. The winner, though receiving a big handicap, swam a hue race, winning by 200 yards. Enright, who has twice previously won the Cup, put up a great performance from scratch, gaining the fastest time.

Only seven out of the fourteen starters completed the course.

The winner is the third lady to secure the Cup, previous winners being Miss O. Nuttail (Napier) in 1922, and Miss L. Copplestono (Christchurch) in 1928, The winner, uho had a start of 32 minutes on Enright, kept a good, even pace throughout, and ..was accorded an ovation on finishing.

Girling, who was second, conceded a start of 13$ minutes L> Miss Ellis, and made up ten minute-, of this. Enright picked up 27$ minutes, Enright just managed to wipe, oil the handicap of 3$ minutes he gave Reid, who secured fastest time at Wanganui last year, the pair finishing within three seconds of each other.
