HAWKE CUP. 'By Telegraph—Per Press Association, HAMILTON, January 25 f. Nelson commenced a Hawke Cup cricket challenge against South Auckland at Seddon Park today,- under ideal weather conditions. The wicket and outfield were fast. Cassidy and Win gw- opened for South Auckland, runs coming slowly. Winger was never comfortable against the attack and with 39 on the board he skied a dicffiult one to Newman who held it. At 11.30 the home side had lost 1 for 42. HAMILTON, January 29. At lunch South Auckland had lost four wickets- for 157.
