IMPROVED POSITION. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, January 28. The Commonwealth Bank’s return for the week ended January 25th, shows a further reduction in the amount, of notes in circulation by ball a million sterling. During the past four weeks two and a-lialf millions’ worth of notes have been cancelled. Tlie deposits at the Rank are higher by thirty-two thousand pounds. The short-term loans in Australia are less by ‘£436,128.
