ATTACKED BY INTRUDER
MAYFIELD WOMAN RENDERED UNCONSCIOUS, . ASHBURTON, January '2O. A sensational affair occurred at Mayfield recently, when a woman was struck by an intruder in her home and rendered unconscious. A young man forced an entrance to the house when the woman’s husband was absent. The woman, it is stated, attempted to repulse the man with a knife, but lie hit her on the head with a stick, rendering her unconscious, and then made off. An iiidentification parade, in which a suspect was present, has since been held by the police.
