FIRE IN’ TAIERI HALL. (By Telegraph—rer Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 20. A well-known landmark, Riccarton Hall, Ernst Taieri, with a library collection commenced in Ithe early eighties, together with an adjoining residence, was destroyed by fire yesterday. There was only a small insurance on the hall. y DIOMEDE’S SYDNEY TRIP. WELLINGTON, January 21. The Minister of Defence, Mr Cobne, announces that the “Diomede” will visit Sydney in March for the opening of the new Harbour Bridge. She will leave Whangaroa on March loth. On the way across the Tasman sue will meet the Royal Australian Navy, and accompany it for the rest of the journey. She will be in Sydney from March 14th. to March 22nd.
