The following remain in the singles Scott, (Caledonian), Hinchliffe (Caledonian), Routley (Kelburn), Tyrell (Roslyn). As a. result of the rinks played today, Walker (Auckland) is the only two lifer left.
CHRISTCHURCH, January 21
For the New Zealand howling championship, the weather was fine, i-ost sectional play in rinks was continued and pairs and singles competition were advanced further stages. It is expected the tournament will be concluded to-morrow.
In a singles match this morning Tyrrell (Roslyn eliminated Foster (Caledonian). Rinks championship, fourth round. Two lifers Walker (Auckland) 18, v. Bremner (West End, Auckland) it>; Sprosen (Linwood) (one life) 19, Deare (Dunedin) 18. One lifers: —-Gordon (Canterbuiy) 2i v. Wilson (St. Kilda) 16; Banay Papnnui) 24 v. Calder (Phoenix) iV; Gray (Kelburn) 17, v. Moyes (West End", Timaru) 14; Edwards (Temuka) 19 v. Dick (Ashburton) 16. PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP. The following green winners were decided this morning—Edgeware Section, M. McWhannell (Haitaitai) 16. v. Ramsay (Shirley) 13. Cashmere Green, Section G. Howarth (Canterbury) 23, v.
