'• Is . BOY DROWNED, (By Telegraph — Per Press A ssoviation) OAMARU, Jan. 20. Peter Smith, aged 8 years, was accidentally drowned in a poul at the Waimate Hydro at 1.30 p.m. to-day. An inquest will he held. "“forjsery charge'7 . AUCKLAND, Jan. 20, A former Government official, Harold Fletcher Tomlinson, aged 50 years, was arrested this afternoon on a charge of forging a receipt. The accused later appeared before Mr Hunt, S.M. In asking for a remand, Detective Sergeant Kelly said that there were' about eight other charges of forgery to be preferred against the accu-ed. Tomlinson was remanded on bail of £l5O, and was ordered to report daily to the police. EXAMINATION RESULT*. WELLINGTON, Jan. 20.
