Tliore have been serious disorders in the international settlement here, where an armed' clash took place between a mol) of Japanese civilians and the Chinese municipal police. It resulted in one of the Ghiiuve police King killed, and two wounded. The conflict followed a brutal attack upon five Japanese monks by Chinese worke:s on Mondav.
A number of Japanese civilians organised a party and burned a Chinese cotton factory, whose workers were responsible for the outrage on the monks.
A very grave situation prevailed here. The Chinese ' police are threatening reprisals.
